ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY
By accessing or using Slought Foundation website, you agree to the
terms of the Slought Foundation Online Privacy Policy, as outlined
below. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not access or use
this site. Slought Foundation reserves the right to change the Online
Privacy Policy from time to time at its sole discretion. Your use of this
site will be subject to the most current version of the Online Privacy
Policy at the time of such use.
Collection of personal information. When you engage in certain activities
on this site, such as downloading materials, information or entering
personal and other information, Slought Foundation may ask you to
provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting
an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage in these
activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however, Slought
Foundation may ask that you provide us personal information, such as
your first and last name, mailing address (including zip code), e-mail
address, employer, job title and department, telephone and fax numbers,
and other personal identifying information. Depending upon the activity,
some of the information that we ask you to provide is identified as
mandatory and some as voluntary. If you do not provide the mandatory data
with respect to a particular activity, you will not necessarily be able to
engage in that activity.
When you submit personal information to Slought Foundation on this
site, you understand and agree that this information may be transferred
across national boundaries and may be stored and processed in any of the
countries in which the representatives of Slought Foundation may reside
or be traveling through, including without limitation, the United States.
We cannot and under no circumstances insure the privacy of your
information antecedent to its reception by Slought Foundation.
How your personal information is used. Slought Foundation collects your
information in order to record and support your participation in the
activities you select. If you enter your email address so as to be
electronically notified of important Slought Foundation announcements, for
example, the information is used to register you for the said services and
benefits which you requested, and/ or other services and benefits that may
be made available to said registered users. If you enter information in a
form, information is collected to qualify the entry and contact you
regarding the entry.
Your choices with respect to personal information. Slought Foundation
recognizes and appreciates the importance of responsible use of
information collected on this site. If you do not want the information you
provide to Slought Foundation to be used to inform you of other
services, information, and offers available from Slought Foundation,
and you indicate this preference when you provide your personal
information, Slought Foundation will honor your preference. If you do
not want to receive materials regarding third party non-commercial or
commercial products or services, and you indicate this preference when you
provide your personal information to Slought Foundation, we will honor your preference to the highest degree possible by not providing your information to such third parties. Slought Foundation reserves the right to provide aggregate data to third parties for
non-commercial, geneological statistical analysis, or individual data for
non-profit research purposes.
Protection of your personal information. The personal information that you
provide in connection with registering yourself as a Slought Foundation user or member is classified as private Information. Please note that any
information you post to a public bulletin board or chat room, such as the
Slought Foundation bulletin boards, is available to all persons
accessing that site.
Use of cookies. When you visit SLOUGHT.ORG, you can surf the site
anonymously and access important information without revealing your
identity. We do not use "cookies" to track your visit. A cookie is small
amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a Web server and can
only be read by the server that gave it to you. It functions as your
identification card, recording your passwords, preferences, etc. It cannot
be executed as code or deliver viruses. SLOUGHT.ORG does not make use of
cookies. While Slought Foundation does not use cookies to track your
visit to SLOUGHT.ORG, our Web servers may automatically log the
IP/Internet address of your computer, what sites you arrive to slought.net
from, and/ or particular pages and information you may access during your
visit as well as immediately upon exit. This information does not identify
you personally and you remain anonymous unless you have otherwise provided
Slought Foundation with your IP/Internet address or other specific
personal information.
Updating your personal information. You have the right to correct your
personal information, change your membership or user status, listserve
subscription status, and privacy preferences at any time. You may also
access and correct your personal information and privacy preferences by
writing or calling Slought Foundation. Contact information for this purpose
can be obtained here or by emailing Slought Foundation. Please include your name,
address, and/or e-mail address when you contact us. In your
correspondence, please indicate with as much detail as possible the
specific change to your personal information you are pursuing, and/ or any
privacy concerns.
Privacy related complaints. If you believe that Slought Foundation has
not complied with this Online Privacy Policy with respect to your personal
information, you may write us at the address indicated above. In your
letter, please describe in as much detail as possible the ways in which
you believe that the Slought Foundation Online Privacy Policy has not
been complied with. We will investigate your complaint promptly. Please
note that if you provide Slought Foundation with inconsistent privacy
preferences (for example, by indicating on one occasion that we may
contact you with important announcements and indicating on another
occasion that Slought Foundation may not), Slought Foundation cannot
guarantee that your most recent privacy preference will be honored. Also,
please note that Slought Foundation is not responsible for the content
or privacy practices of non-SLOUGHT.ORG Web sites to which SLOUGHT.ORG or
any other Slought Foundation website may link.
