Based in Los Angeles, Vinny Golia and his Nine Winds label are at the heart of the Californian free improvisation community. He came to attention in the 70s as a mulit-instrumentalist and has led numerous sessions, from solo to big ensemble performances. His arsenal of wind instruments is vast and he delights in exploring every timbral register. He has an extensive recording body work that includes his collaborations with Nels Cline, Tim Berne, Wadada Leo Smith, Bobby Bradford, John Carter and Jeff Kaiser. This is an extremely rare east coast visit.
