DVPG takes its name from the Russian filmmaker of the early 1900's. This work combines electronic and processed original compositions of Fields and Smith with Rosenberg's video imagery.

Ryan Smith (laptop computer, composer) is best known for his contributions as a live electronicist for groups such as AdaPT and the Madison Contact Improv Group. He regularly performs with fellow electronicist Jeff Snyder, with whom he co-composed remixes for hip-hop pioneers Public Enemy.

Douglas Rosenberg (live video) is the recipient of the Phelan Art Award in Video. He has collaborated with choreographers Molissa Fenley, Sean Curran, Joe Goode and Li Chiao-Ping.
