Jean-Michel Rabaté | Senior Curator for Discursive Projects
Rabaté is the Vartan Gregorian Professor in the Humanities at the University of Pennsylvania, and a co-founder and Curator of Discursive Projects of the Slought Foundation in Philadelphia.
He is also a senior editor of the Journal of Modern Literature, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and currently the president of the Samuel Beckett Society.
He has authored or edited more than thirty books on modernism, psychoanalysis, contemporary art and philosophy. Among these, James Joyce and the Politics of Egoism (2001), Jacques Lacan and the subject of Literature (2001), The Future of Theory (2002), The Cambridge Companion to Jacques Lacan (2002), The Palgrave Advances to James Joyce Studies (2004), and Architecture Against Death: On Arakawa and Gins (2005). More recently, he authored Lacan Literario (2007), 1913: The cradle of modernism (2007), The Ethic of the Lie (2008) and Etant donnes: 1) lÕart, 2) le crime (2010). At present, he is editing a collection of essays on Modernism and Theory, and completing a monograph on Psychoanalysis and literature.
