Beginning to end
3:30pm – 5:30pm
A screening of “Beginning to End,” a virtually unknown and rarely seen video of the great Irish actor Jack McGowran performing selections from Samuel Beckett’s plays, prose, and poetry. This version was shot in the Mojave desert in 1971 (color, 58 min). Introduced by Charles Goldstein.

Join us for a reading of "Love in the South" by Michael Greenberg, followed by conversation with Patricia Gherovici and Judith Feher-Gurewich, on Beg, Borrow, Steal: A Writer’s Life. In this memoir recently published by The Other Press, Greenberg avoids the self-indulgent and solipsistic drift of most auto-biographical writing in a format modeled on his regular columns for The Times Literary Supplement. He explores a wide variety of subjects including film, literature, Jewish identity, racism, the wildlife in Central Park, New York City’s rat problems, and even the politics of transgenders.
