Slought Foundation and Soundfield NFP are pleased to announce an evening of music by the Taiwanese ensemble Chai Found Music Workshop on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 8:00-9:30pm at Slought Foundation.
Chai Found Music Workshop is a 7-member Chinese instrument ensemble hailing from Taipei, Taiwan. For this concert, their Philadelphia premiere, they will perform selections of traditional Chinese music along with works by two outstanding contemporary composers from Taiwan, Chao-Ming Tung and Hwang Long Pan. Mixing elements of tradition with some of the newest approaches to contemporary music, Chai Found Music Workshop invites you to experience new sounds from the 21st century. This program is a collaboration between Soundfield and the Taipei Cultural Center New York, The Taiwan Cultural Ministry, and the Slought Foundation.
This program was made possible in part through the generous sponsorship of the Philadelphia Music Project, a program of the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts and administered by The University of the Arts
