Please join us on Thursday, May 5, 2005from 8-10pm at Slought Foundation for a live concert with TYFT featuring Andrew D'Angelo (bass clarinet/ alto saxophone/ electronics), Hilmar Jensson (guitar/ electronics), and Jim Black (drums/ melodica/ electronics).
Andrew D'Angelo, founder of the ensemble Human Feel, is an active contributer to the downtown creative music community. He has been a member of the Matt Wilson Quartet, the Either/Orchestra, the Reid Anderson Quintet, Orange then Blue, and Kurt Rosenwinkel's ensemble. The Lyceum recording label plans to release a three-volume collection of D'Angelo's chamber works, featuring Dave Douglas, Andy Laster and Brad Shepik.
A Reykjavik native, leader Hilmar Jensson (b. 1966) has contributed to over thirty recordings including those of Kjár (a collaboration with Skuli
Sverrisson) and Jim Black's AlasNoAxis. He is a co-founder of Kitchen Motors, an Icelandic recording label, think-tank and arts organization as well as collaborates regularly with Portuguese guitarist Rafael Toral, Supersilent's Arve Henriksen, Uri Caine’s Mahler and Bach Projects, Eyvind Kang, Kevin Drumm and Laurie Anderson.
Percussionist Jim Black is best know for his work with Ellery Eskelin, Chris Speed's Yeah No, Tim Berne's Bloodcount, Dave Douglas' Tiny Bell Trio, Uri Caine's Mahler and Bach Projects, and Laurie Anderson.
